Tennis elbow is an injury on the lateral side of the elbow and golf elbow is an injury to the medial side of the elbow. Each is so named due to their prevalence in the respective sports, but are not isolated to those sports. Usually, these injuries are due to overuse of the tendons or muscles during activity. Often treatment that focuses just on the elbow will give only short-term relief of the injury as improper techniques during activity or poor biomechanics at adjacent joints such as the shoulder are the reason the tissues at the elbow are getting overloaded and injured. A thorough assessment that includes the entire arm and shoulder, as well as the neck and back, are imperative to get long-term relief of this problem.
